Lia Sanuco is a driven and accomplished professional who earned her MBA from University Canada West in 2024. Arriving in Canada in 2023, she quickly embraced her new environment and has been committed to building meaningful connections across diverse industries. Her enthusiasm for leadership and community-building was exemplified during her time as the founding president of the Filipino International Student Association (FILSA) at UCW. Under her leadership, FILSA flourished, growing to an impressive 300 members and creating a strong support network for Filipino students navigating their academic and professional journeys in Canada.
Beyond her academic achievements, Lia has made it her mission to contribute to the community through active involvement with several non-profit organizations. Her volunteer work reflects her dedication to empowering others and fostering collaboration among individuals and groups. With her innovative mindset and entrepreneurial spirit, she is now focusing on a project close to her heart—Pinoy Business Board, a comprehensive directory website aimed at connecting Filipino-owned businesses with consumers.
Lia envisions Pinoy Business Board as more than just a directory; it is a platform to celebrate the achievements of Filipino entrepreneurs, encourage economic growth, and strengthen the ties within the Filipino-Canadian community. Through this initiative, she hopes to make it easier for businesses to reach their target audiences while helping consumers discover the incredible variety of services and products offered by Filipino enterprises.
Her journey is a testament to her resilience, passion, and unwavering commitment to creating opportunities for others. Lia continues to inspire those around her as she works toward building a thriving network that bridges cultural and economic gaps.
